Additional and Changes to Sessions April - July 2013

Lots of fun and exciting sessions including First Friends, Infant Massage, Rhyme Time and Fun with Drums are starting in April 2013. Please note that the Fun with Drums session previously at Windhill & Little Squirrels Children's Centre on a Friday afternoon which was for age 1-2 yrs is now being held at our Buttercups Centre from 9.30-10.15 am. There will also be 2 sessions of Fun with Drums running from our Buttercups Centre which will both be for 0-12 months and the times will be 10.30-11.30 am and 11.45 - 12.45 pm. In line with your suggestions we have split the First Friends Group into two age groups 0-6 mths and 6-12 mths and moved the sessions to a Tuesday morning. These will be run at our Buttercups Centre and the times for these will be 9.30-10.15 am for 0-6 mths and 10.30-11.15 am for 6-12 mths. We are also running several Parenting Courses, including the popular 10 week Parenting Puzzle, Parenting a Child with Additional Needs and Managing Conflict & Anger. Bishop’s Stortford Foodbank - Vouchers

Windhill Children's Centre Network are now voucher holders for the Bishop's Stortford foodbank. Should any family find themselves in a position where they may need an emergency 3 day food parcels, they can either obtain these by approaching a member of the team with a view to obtaining the necessary voucher from either Windhill & Little Squirrels Children's Centre or Buttercups Children's Centre. These vouchers can then be taken down to the Methodist Church any day Monday-Friday between 10 am -12.30 pm and exchanged for the food parcel. Introducing Solids - We have now got the following dates for Introducing Solids which will be held at Windhill & Little Squirrels CC, Windhill Primary School, Bishop's Stortford, CM23 2NL:-
Wednesday 27th March 2013 - 1 pm-2.00 pm

Wednesday 15th May 2013 - 1 pm-2.00 pm
Wednesday 19th June 2013 - 1 pm-2.00 pm

New Session Times - Rhyme Time (12-18 mths) (18-24 mths) & 2+ yrs

Following Consultation with parents the Rhyme Time Session times will change with effect from 8th November 2012 and these sessions will be bookable. The first session will be for (12-18 mths) and will run from 9.15-9.45 am. The second session which will be for (18-24 mths) and will run from 10.00-10.30 am and the final session for 2+ years will run from 10.45-11.30 am. Please note there will be no snacks served at these sessions now.
Change of Day & Time - Cherubs - Now PACT (Parents & Children Together)

Cherubs - (now PACT) A Support Group for parents/carers of children with additional needs supported by Aspects & PACT has changed the day and time of their sessions which are held at All Saints School - (please note the information on the Windhill Children's Centre Network Activities Programme relating to Cherubs is no longer valid). The new sessions are currently running on the first Wednesday of every month from 7.00 pm - 8.30 pm. If you require any further information please telephone 01279 696842.
Twins & Multiple Birth Group

If you are new parents to twins (or maybe more), or if you have multiples of children under the age of 5 there is no doubt that you will be going through a period of major change to your family lives. Adjusting to twins and triplets is likely to be quite demanding. Would sharing your experiences with other parents who understand help you? - and at the same time give your little ones the chance to play and socialise ...... then why not go along to the Twins Stay & Play Sessions. Initially, at the beginning of January this year Windhill Children's Centre Network helped towards setting up and funding these sessions which were held at the Havers Community Centre. The venue for the Twins Group has now changed and the weekly sessions held on a Tuesday morning from 9.30 am - 12.00 are now at the Parsonage Lane Community Centre.
