Bishop’s Stortford, Royston and Buntingford PCT
We work in close partnership with our local HV and School Nurse and community midwife teams to provide advice, support and guidance for a range of child and family health matters to parents/carers with children under 5. Please see programme for details.
HCC Children’s Trust Partnership
This is the overarching umbrella that drives forward the initiatives aimed at supporting families and children 0-19 across the county. For more details please see the HCC website.
District partnership team
The officers from this team support both Children’s Centre’s, Extended Schools hub’s, and childcare providers and more across the East Herts district, they also support the delivery of parenting support training across the locality.

Citizens Advice Bureau
We work in partnership with the CAB to provide support/advice & guidance covering a range of financial issue’.s We have a linked financial capability advisor who attends Windhill Children’s Centre on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday afternoon of each month. There is no need to book an appointment (although this facility can be arranged)you can simply drop in.
Home-start
The Children’s Centre provides a venue for the Home-start family group to meet. At these weekly sessions the volunteers can meet with the families they support in a child friendly environment, managed by Home-start staff. The group meets on a Tuesday afternoon. If you think that you would benefit from the support of a Home-start volunteer (you MUST have an under 5 to be eligible for this support).
NCMA (National Childminding Association)
The Children’s Centre allocates provision for the local network group to meet and hold weekly ‘drop-in’ sessions. It has also supported with the provision of resources and equipment improving the access to quality EY experiences for the children they look after. Town-wide the childminders can also now attend termly network meeting held in the evening, and facilitated by Windhill CC staff, at these meetings training needs are discussed and other key professional are invited in, as well as the opportunity simply for childminders to network and enjoy a cup of coffee together. In addition, once training needs are assessed and identified, the Centre will organise (where possible) relevant opportunities. We also work in partnership with the district development officer. Hertford Regional College
This is the main provider for adult learning within the East Herts District. We work in partnership with them to provide a range of family learning and adult learning classes, as defined by out own community needs. So far this has included Family First Aid, Healthy Eating on a budget, and ESOL classes. These have been very well received, and will continue to run into the future.
Local Child care settings
We link very closely with all our local childcare settings, providing a EY network (much the same as for the childminders) for them, and opportunity for representation on our partnership board. We have supported them with the provision of new resources to enhance the exepriences they provide for the under 5’s who attend their settings.
East Herts and Broxbourne CVS (Community Voluntary Services)
We are a member of this local third sector forum, and aim to signpost all our other partners in the direction of the many opportunities (particularly for funding)that they present. Where possible a member of the CC team will attend the meetings. For details please contact the office.
